Comfortable, spacious cottage for two

 

A deceptively spacious well-equipped cottage for two available in May, June, July and August only. There are, in fact, two bedrooms giving a choice of either a double or a twin, although the twin has limited storage space. Rather than cramming in as many beds and bunks as possible to maximise rental, we prefer to take only two adults to give people  home-from-home comfort and plenty of space. Also, at present we only have off-road parking for 1 car.
Sorry, no children or pets at present.

 Cottage available on  a nightly/short break/weekly basis, either self-catering or B&B during  (see tariff below) 
All linen and towels inclusive. Metered electricity as per current NPower charge.

 The cottage is situated on the outskirts of  the village of Newbiggin, three and a half miles west of Penrith. Adjoining the owners house, in former days the cottage was the village blacksmith and farriers shop. It has recently been refurbished to the highest standards including rewiring and new central heating.   
Away from the crowds yet ideally situated for the Lakes, Ullswater 5 miles, Blencathra range 6 miles and Keswick 14 miles. Scottish border 40 miles.

No - smoking indoors as per current legislation.

Entrance leading to lovely new kitchen with Fridge/freezer, built-in electric oven/grill and ceramic hotplate, microwave, toaster, kettle, dishwasher and washer/dryer. Ample storage and worktop space.  Dining table for four. Door leading to ---

Large oak beamed lounge with Parker-Knoll reclining sofa and two easy chairs. Beech dining table and freeview television. Door leading to ---

Double bedroom with exposed beams. Back through lounge  on to ---

Four stairs leading to  large luxurious bathroom with oversized bath, basin/vanity unit, walk-in shower and toilet.

Up a short fight of stairs to twin bedroom.  You may choose one bedroom or the other on arrival  (but please note the twin has limited storage)

Forecourt parking for one car, private gravelled patio area with seating to rear of cottage and shared use of garden and seating to front.

Pub half a mile, shop 2 miles and supermarket three and a half miles (Penrith)

 
10% deposit required on booking,

For exclusive use of the cottage and all facilities £28 per person per night self-catering or £33 pppn. Bed & Breakfast.

Metered electricity

Reduction for for 7 nights or more,  please ask.

Please note we only let the cottage over Easter and during May/June/July/August
