Lakes guided mountain walks

How many times have you said to yourself, 'I would love to go there but I am not sure if I can go on my own'. Well then come out with us, we have been doing guided walks for over 25 years! The Moot Hall is where we stand with our 'A board', and always has been. Times don't change, but some of our leaders have, how many of you can remember them and tell tales about their adventures out with groups?

Our Blog, a must read for many of you. Contains photos and descriptions of actual walks; fabulous.

This is where the excitement starts as you plan who to go with and when; something for everyone.
Keswick Rambles is an association of independent, local fell walking guides who provide a varied Spring, Summer and Autumn programme of hill and mountain group walks for tourists and locals in beautiful Northern Lakeland based around Keswick. All our guided walks start from outside the Moot Hall in Keswick's Market Square where you will be able to join us for a good days walk with plenty to see. We have graded all of the fell walks so that you can make an informed choice about what might make a suitable hike for you, your friends and your family. Hill walking is not for everyone because not all hikers are as fit as fleas so we aim to try and make the hiking up the fells a possibility for mixed abilities by setting out categories or grades. Please consider the options we offer carefully before you commit yourself, as our idea of a mountain ramble might be unsuitable for some of you. If in any doubt, ask us to explain the nature of the terrain and the type of fell walking required. If still in doubt don't be surprised if we advise you that rambling around the lake would be best for you and, in the best interests of the walking group as a whole, decline to take you with us. You see it is very important that the walking group under our guidance enjoys the walk.

There is always another hill another day so don't worry if you have not been up it yet, just wait.

Walks come in 4 categories
CLASSIC = Steep, rocky or rugged mountain tops often with longer approaches, make this a hard and long day; fitness essential
A = A serious fell walk, high, rocky, long and steep; fitness necessary
B = A good walk usually covering a few felltops with several ascents and descents; strenuous
C =A fairly easy walk; with maybe only one top to climb, suitable for active walkers
