We were very pleased to welcome Alison and Halle to our team last year as they are both exceptional leaders. Take a look at their little potted history below to gain a flavour of this dynamic duo before you meet them on their walks. You won't be disappointed.
Leaders Alison and Halle
We both joined KR in 2010 at the start of the season.
On the majority of our walks we are joint leaders. We've had some great days out with excellent company and we are looking forward to meeting 'old' as well as new walkers this year.
We met each other more years ago than we care to remember when our children attended the same primary school. We also shared the same interests in orienteering and mountain marathons. Alison successfully completed ( in the distant past) the Bob Graham Round - 72 miles and 42 peaks in less than 24 hours. Halle feels tired just typing it! However, we are both now more than happy to walk at a steady pace to enjoy the views rather than rush around the fells.
Alison attained the Mountain Leader Award over 10 years ago whilst Halle completed the Mountain Leader Training in 2010.
Our backgrounds are from the worlds of education and medicine; we are delighted to have the opportunity to work outdoors in one of the most stunning areas of the UK rather than be in an office or classroom or hospital department.
Let's hope for cloudless summits this year!

Walks come in 3 categories.
A = Steep, high, rocky or rugged mountain tops sometimes with longer approaches, make this a hard day; fitness essential
B = A good walk usually covering a few felltops with several ascents and descents; strenuous
C =A fairly easy walk; with maybe only one top to climb, suitable for active walkers
